Joke is an experienced interim senior legal counsel based in the Amsterdam region. She focuses on commercial and corporate law and negotiating various types of commercial contracts.

 

She also has extensive experience in executing strategic projects from a legal perspective, thereby working together with various stakeholders and project teams.

 

She started her career as an attorney (advocaat) at international law firm Norton Rose Fulbright, where she worked for 6 years. First in the corporate litigation team and thereafter in the corporate M&A team, where she advised on and specialized in inter alia M&A transactions, private equity transactions and corporate governance.

 

After working as an attorney, she worked a couple of years as legal counsel respectively Head of Legal at wehkamp, a well-known e-commerce and retail company in the Netherlands, where she was responsible for all commercial and corporate law matters.

 

In 2019 she started her own business Brands Legal Consultancy. She has both domestic and international clients, amongst others in the e-commerce, logistics and IT industry.

 

Joke is a pragmatic, hands-on legal specialist with a commercial mindset and is used to work with different types of stakeholders at various types of companies. She is able to quickly analyze the legal impact of a problem, while at the same time seeing the bigger picture and understanding that the legal angle is often only part of the solution.

 

She has had directs reports to CFO’s and CEO, has been corporate secretary of a managing and

supervisory board and has been part of an (operational) management team. She also has experience with managing a legal team and external counsel.
